Research Networking Activities Support Sustained Coordinated Observations of Arctic Change

چکیده
Rapid Arctic environmental change requires improved collaboration across observing activities that support adaptation and response from local to pan-Arctic scales. The Research Networking Activities in Support of Sustained Coordinated Observations Change (RNA CoOBs), partnership with the Food Security Working Group (FSWG), supports an Indigenous-led project on food security. These efforts tie into broader goals Sustaining Observing Networks (SAON) Roadmap for Data Systems (ROADS). SAON is open initiative International Science Committee Council, uniting non-Arctic countries Indigenous, regional, global organizations network development integration. has been advancing a framework under ROADS adds value different by providing common context identifying shared goals.

Social Networking Theories and Tools to Support Connectivist Learning Activities
This article considers the affordances of social networking theories and tools to build new and effective e-learning practices. We argue that “connectivism” (social networking applied to learning and knowledge contexts) can lead to a reconceptualization of learning in which formal, nonformal, and informal learning can be integrated as to build potentially lifelong learning activities to be expe...

Facets of Arctic Change
This special issue highlights results from the project Arctic Climate Change Economy and Society (ACCESS, 2011–2015) supported within the Ocean of Tomorrow call of the European Union’s 7th framework programme. Focusing on the marine Arctic, ACCESS investigated climate impacts on marine transportation, seafood production, and the extraction of hydrocarbons up to 2050. The project dedicated parti...
متن کاملA Portal to Support Rigorous Experimental Methodology in Networking Research
Whilst dealing with topics that are more and more influenced by physical properties of the underlying media, the networking community still lacks a culture of rigorous result verification. Indeed, as opposed to most of the science and engineering fields there are very few benchmarks to test protocols against. Furthermore, in most publications the authors do not give the community access to the ...
متن کاملInteraction webs in arctic ecosystems: Determinants of arctic change?
How species interact modulate their dynamics, their response to environmental change, and ultimately the functioning and stability of entire communities. Work conducted at Zackenberg, Northeast Greenland, has changed our view on how networks of arctic biotic interactions are structured, how they vary in time, and how they are changing with current environmental change: firstly, the high arctic ...
